Day Moon began in the winter of 2020 as a home-baking pop-up during the pandemic — first loaves out of a home kitchen, a Venezuelan pan de jamón collaboration before Christmas.
Founder Wendy Williams trained at Tartine before striking out on her own. In 2021 the bakery became a Sunday stand at the Clement Street Farmers' Market, where it built a regular following for two years before opening on Irving Street in the Outer Sunset in 2023.
The market stand is still there on Sundays — same loaves, same scones, in the neighborhood that started it.
Naturally leavened breads, rustic pastry, and Linea espresso on a La Marzocco. Sandwiches on Fridays; pizza some evenings. The bread board changes with what's in season — ask at the counter for what's on today.

Posted occasionally on Instagram — bake lists, scone flavors, the line on Irving, the rare Sunday at the market.

Our storefront sits on Irving Street, a few blocks from Ocean Beach in the Outer Sunset. On Sundays you'll also find us at the Clement Street Farmers' Market — where the bakery began.
